The Douzaine Representative - now defunct

The Douzaine Representative was elected by the Douzaine from it's own elected members every year to represent them in the States. Being the Douzaine Representative was seen as an opportunity for a member of Douzaine who had political ambitions to try a year in the States Chamber and to see if they wished to stand as a Deputy which would be a natural progression.

The practice and custom of Douzaine Representative was abolished with the changes in the Machinery of government brought into effect as of the 1st May 2004.

 

 Douzenier Mark Dorey was the last Douzaine Representative.
