The Parish and Community of Castel, Guernsey
"Stately Homes" A number of the larger houses were built by prominent islanders living in the parish. Possibly the most noteworthy are Suamarez Park, St George and La Haye du Puits. There are others worth noting.
Home of Admiral Lord de Saumarez, 2nd in command to Nelson at the Battle of the Nile. Built a replica of a French Chateau as a private school for his children at Grandes Rocques which later became a pub and a Hotel.

Home of the Guille family and location of the Holy Well of St George.
Ancient Manor with a strange story. Home of the Le Marchant family. Shares it's name with La Haye du Puits in Normandy.
